In 1948, Harold Taggart began transforming streets in the Glebe and Ottawa's west end into homes for returning war veterans. Over the decades his family built the Taggart Group of Companies — Tamarack Homes, Taggart Construction, Taggart Realty Management, Doran Contractors and Tartan Homes.
